Reflection Journal

Journal should provide an example of a Wonderful experience, topic, person, group, object, place, and so on.​​This example should be presented in the journal using a picture, video, poem, or some other creative means of presentation. The person should then demonstrate how their example has led (or could lead) to Wisdom in their own lives.
Journal will feature two components:
1)The Example: You will start off the journal with a clearly labelled example. Your
example should clearly represent the topic you are going to discuss.

a) Your example can be a video, an image, a song, a poem, an article, a blog, and soon—however, you must either embed or provide a working link to your example.
2) The Discussion: you will then spend 600+ words discussing the example that you have
given. In the discussion section, you should make sure to:
a) Demonstrate how the example you have given is Wonderful for you.
b) Reflect on what kind of Wisdom you have gained (or might gain) from this Wonderful experience, and show how the Wisdom developed.
c) Use materials from class to help you make sense of the problem. You might
provide a quote from the reading that you think applies to this example, or you
might reference a class discussion that you found helpful in thinking about the
problem.
i) Note: It is important that the student come up with “Wonderful” examples from their own experiences. The readings and class discussion should be used to help you think through your example, but you should not simply
copy the themes we discussed in class. For example, during the class we will discuss the wonder involved in Beauty. You might use your own example of a beautiful painting (and use discussion from the Beauty week to help you talk about your painting example), but you should not simply title one of your journals “Beauty” and copy down our class discussions. In other words, the students can use examples that fit into the categories discussed in class, but they need to have a particular example from their own experiences.
