Include a brief biography of your ARTIST … focus on location; interesting facts; art training.
(You must include additional information vs. my lectures)
Discuss which STYLE or PERIOD – Early Renaissance; Northern or High Renaissance
Include an image (self-portrait; portrait by another artist; or picture of location)
Include typical subjects and style of group; also origins of that style.
Brief description of historical context or key events/inventions.
Discuss, in depth, at least 3 works of art from that ARTIST
(NOTE: Only 1 can be from my lecture, the other 2 must be different than the ones I taught)
(1 – your choice; 1 Biblical/Christian subject and 1 Greek/Roman influenced. Some artists don’t have a Greek/Roman SUBJECT, so you’ll have to connect the style of a another artwork- portrait, etc.)
In each painting/sculpture discuss:
Subject. (who it is, story, importance of subject)
Style (using all key stylistic terms from class, point out the features in each painting).
Discuss images in depth … style and subject, material, patron, or something interesting.
How does the work of art reflect the Renaissance belief in Humanism (define humanism).
Include an interesting conclusion SLIDE … another artwork or summary. Your choice!
