Aging Organization Paper

You will choose a (non-profit or government) agency or organization that aims to work with or assist our diverse aging population. In a 3-4 page paper, you will describe the particular aging population the organization aims to serve and their potential needs. You will then research and choose an organization that is attempting to reach this population. Utilizing the organization’s website and any additional information you can find, critically examine the organization, and provide suggestions for improvements or expansions on what you believe works well. You are required to utilize class readings and discussions to support your argument regarding past success and likely future challenges the organization might face.

15 Points: Introduce a diverse group of older adults. Introduce the agency you will be utilizing. What will you be presenting in the rest of the paper? Have a strong topic sentence.

20 Points: Define and describe the group of older adults. Who are they? What are some of the issues members of this group might face? What are their needs? Be sure to provide specific examples.

20 Points: Introduce the agency you have chosen. Describe as much as possible about the agency. What is its mission? Who is their population, who do they serve? Where are they located? How are they funded? What are some of the programs or services they provide? How do they reach their intended population?

15 Points: Describe a program or service the agency provides that you believe is most effective in assisting their target audience. Provide an example of how this program is beneficial.

20 Points: What are the ways the agency can be improved? What might be some challenges? Create and describe an example of a new program they could provide to older adults.

10 Points: Grammar, Readability, Citations, Thorough, and follows directions and format.
