HERE IS MY CLASSMATE POST YOU NEED FOR POST 2 (DANIA): Nathan Floyd was convicted of sexual battery with a knife. He defended himself saying that the victim was falsely accusing him because he refused the pay her for sex like agreed. At Floyd’s trial, one of Floyd’s prior conviction was brought into evidence. When Floyd was brought in to testify, he stated that he did not testify at the first trial and it ruined his case but he decided to testify in this case before he knew his previous conviction would be brought into evidence. Two witnesses testified as well stating that Floyd agreed to pay them in exchange for sex but instead drove them somewhere, raped them at knifepoint, and then left them stranded and did not pay them as he agreed. He denied threatening the victim in this case with a knife. Floyd later admitted to had been convicted of the armed sexual battery in his previous conviction when he originally had said he had not. At first, Floyd was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison. Later, Floyd’s sentence was reversed and resentenced to 27-years in prison. Floyd v. State, 299 So. 3d 594, 2020 Fla. App. LEXIS 9943, 45 Fla. L. Weekly D 1654, 2020 WL 3885709
