How Will You Measure Your Life?

– Read “How Will You Measure Your Life?”

The article, How Will You Measure Your Life? is a longer piece that asks readers to think about the quality of life vs. the quantity of life. Dr. Christensen, weaves in his personal experiences and his values. Values, which are derived as part of his upbringing and his religion. Almost all of us, whether we claim to be religious adherents or not, have values that may be embedded in our religious backgrounds. We also derive values from our parents, friends, and our country’s culture. Because values ARE socially derived, you may see the term “socially-constructed.” It’s this idea of social-construction that allows values to fluctuate and differ from one society to another.
