Literature Review- Final essay- Based on the attached Data table, must be included 10-15 similar sources.
The Literature Review is a research paper where all the previous work you’ve done with your data table, source annotations, and formal outlining serve to ground you as you move into a more complex synthesis of your research with the intention of creating new meaning for your academic audience. Remember that when you analyze something you are taking it apart to find meaning, but in synthesis, which is what you are doing in a literature review, you are putting things together to find meaning.
Keep in mind the expectations of the Final Draft when you begin your First Draft so you know what you’re working toward:
“Write an eight to ten-page literature review on the topic you have been researching. Include a minimum of 10-15 of your research sources, at least seven of which must be from peer-reviewed journals. No more than three sources can come from news sources, and all non-peer-reviewed sources must still be academic/professional (no .coms, with the exception of reputable journalistic media sources).
Define and clarify a problem.
•Summarize previous investigations to inform your readers of the state of the research on your topic. INVESTIGATIONS TO INFORM YOUR READERS OF THE STATE OF RESEARCH
•Identify relations, contradictions, gaps, and inconsistencies in the research you have reviewed and analyzed.
•Suggest the next steps or steps involved in solving the problem.
As a reminder, the introduction for your literature review should address most or all of the following using specific evidence from your body of research:
•Describe the overall topic that you have been investigating, why it is important to the field, and provide context: how prevalent is this issue? What is the issue?
•Identify themes and trends in research questions, methodology, and findings. Give a “big picture” of the literature.
•Describe possible solutions.
