4. Provide an initial draft of your academic paper to accompany your project. Structure it as follows:
(1). Outline the need for your project based on the work you have done before and a brief literature search.
(2). Include a discussion of theoretical perspectives
-García Coll model with your identified areas
-Theory from your comparison assignment
(3). Identify the goal of your public-facing project – The goal of my project is to…
(4). Discuss and elaborate upon the rationale behind the decisions you made: what issue to address, how to address it, and what audience/elements to target with your public-facing project, etc. Back up your decisions with sources as applicable.
Helpful hints for the first draft:
This is the first draft of your final paper. I do not need this to be a final draft. Bullet points are okay (or you can write it out–whatever you want)!
In this assignment, include your in-text citations. I’m thinking you want to aim for at least 10 citations in the paper. Citations should be formatted (author, date, p. #) EVERY TIME. Include citations in every part of your outline if you can. They are a part of this rough draft.
Even though I don’t need a paragraph-form rough draft, I DO want to see you meet the requirements of the final paper. The easiest way to do this is to include the outline from the requirements in your paper. Copy and paste the wording for numbers 1-4 into your paper. Here’s an example!
1. Outline the need for your project based on the work you have done before and a brief literature search.
Write your outline here. Why is this needed?
2. Include a discussion of theoretical perspectives:
García Coll model with your identified areas
Put your writing about Garcia Coll here
Theory from your comparison assignment
Put your theory writing here…
3. Identify the goal of your public-facing project –
The goal of my project is to…
4. Discuss and elaborate upon the rationale behind the decisions you made (Back up your decisions with sources as applicable):
What issue to address:
Write Issues here
How to address it
How you will address those issues (why this way?)
What audience/elements to target with your public-facing project, etc.
Who is your audience? Be specific!
