This presentation should include an introduction of the strategies you intend to use to accomplish your objectives and your plan for implementing your proposed change or changes. Draw from references in your Literature Review to support the elements of your plan (Attachment). The strategies can take the form of services (for example, a workshop series to enhance staff productivity), knowledge or information (as in the case of research), or tangible products (resource materials). Are there particular research methods that apply here? If so, include a description of any research you intend to conduct. Your strategies should be clear and easy to understand.

Your Action Plan should explain exactly what steps you will take and when, to enact your proposal.

After the narrative of your plan, include a table as detailed in the Proposal for Change course project description that clearly shows what action will be taken, when it will be taken, and who is responsible for the action.

Objectives: What are the objectives you intend to accomplish through this plan? By what dates do you intend to accomplish them? Your objectives may be in the form of short-term goals. Your objectives should be manageable, realistic, attainable, and measurable within a reasonable period.

Strategies: Describe the strategies you plan to use to accomplish your objectives. The chosen strategies should directly address the objectives you intend to accomplish. Consult your review of the literature and identify strategies that will help meet your objectives. If you find that your Literature Review did not adequately address your objectives, plan to search further and expand the Literature Review section of the proposal. Your strategies should be supported with references to the literature. Your strategies can take the form of professional development initiatives, the development of resources and materials, the use of teams to examine school data, the initiation of community or school liaison services, and parental-involvement programs or other strategies, large or small, specific to your needs or your school’s needs. The strategies should be clear and easy to understand and will form the basis of your implementation plan.

Implementation: Your implementation plan should tell the reader exactly what steps will be taken, when they will be taken, and who will be responsible for taking them. This is how you put your strategies to work.

Evaluation: Every effective Proposal for Change includes an evaluation plan. If you do not plan ways to measure the effects of the actions you plan, you will not know how effective your proposal has been in addressing the identified problem. What data will you collect to determine the effects and the effectiveness of your proposal? Summative data are necessary to determine if the plan has made a difference in student achievement over time. In addition, an evaluation plan should include measures for assessing the implementation of the plan. A plan that is not properly implemented cannot be fairly evaluated for its effectiveness. Discuss how you will assess or monitor the implementation of this proposal. Plan to collect data during implementation that indicate the plan is being implemented appropriately and show when adjustments to the plan are needed along the way—a formative evaluation. Following the narratives above, tie all your ideas on strategies, implementation, and evaluation into an action plan in a table format as shown below. The following table is a required component of the Action Plan.
