Etc., etc.

Remember: CMC includes any of the following:

Internet – a system of networks that connects millions of computers around the world.
World Wide Web – a system of interlinked hypertext documents contained on the Internet.
WWW pages, or web pages, contain text, images, videos, & other multimedia; navigable through hyperlinks, viewable through computer-based programs called browsers.
E-mail – Exchange of word-based messages between two or more parties.
Blog (Web log) – Web site, like a journal, maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary and multimedia. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order.
Bulletin Board systems – A form of e-mail that communicates to a larger audience. Messages are sent to a single computer address, where they are “posted” for others to read and reply to.
MMOG (Massively Multiplayer Online Games) – “Virtual reality” game, often graphically represented. Real-time interaction. Participants interact with environments, objects, computer programs, and other people.
Chats – Real-time text-based conversations between two or more people.
Instant messages – Text-based message system that allows two or more people to exchange real-time messages. Private chat.
SMS (Short-messaging service) – Very brief text messages exchanged on mobile phones.
SNS (Social networking sites) – Web-based service where people construct their profiles, identify others with whom they share a connection, and interact with their lists of connections and others within the system.
Twitter – Social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users’ updates (known as tweets) which are usually text-based posts of up to 280 characters in length.

1. Count up all of the tallies in the CMC log you generated in Part 1 of this project.

2. Take the total number of tallies. Divide it by 2. (Round the dividend up if you get a decimal.)

3. Pick one 24 hour period. For that 24 hour period, your ceiling for CMC use (the most times you can use CMC) is the HALF-TOTAL of the Part 1 tallies that you calculated in Step 2. (EXAMPLE: If you used CMC 24 times over the course of this project, you now must pick a 24 hour period during which you will be limited to 12 CMC uses.) Make sure you accurately log your usage in a digital document that can be e-mailed later one.

4. Write a reaction paper about your experience with both parts of this project.
