Topic 1 – Discuss the concept of death and burial (belief/doctrine) in the early native religions of America studied in Chapter 1. (see textbook)
Topic 2 – Discuss the Worldview of Islam (see p. 361) with the goal of explaining this religion to someone (your Instructor) who knows nothing about it.
Topic 3 – Discuss the doctrine/ethics of almsgiving/charity in the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic religions. (see textbook)

1. Put the topic number (1-3) and Topic of the paper from the list below at the top of your first page along with your name/course name/course number/date.
2. Your essay should be 4 pages long, double spaced, and submitted via the assignment Dropbox. Do not email a late assignment to me. It must go through the Dropbox so I can grade it and record the grade and comments for you to read. I am most interested that you understand the textbook topic and can discuss it. Use your own words and don’t copy from an online/book author.

3. You should use a style manual for your bibliography and for citations in the paper. You can use any style, but you must put a note at the end of your bibliography telling me what style you used. This is a way of learning how to write academic papers. You should have citations in your paper and use the 5th page of your paper as a Bibliography or Works Cited page.
4. Do not use Wikipedia as a reference for your paper– this is a college paper and Wikipedia is not a scholarly source.
5. Do not plagiarize. Papers that have been plagiarized will result in a grade of “0.” I am very firm about plagiarism. Don’t do it, and do not work with another student! This is not a team project.
